Welcome to the Paradox Carving website showcasing the work of stone carver Billy Johnson. Based in Yorkshire, UK, Billy uses simple hand tools to carve faces into blocks of stone, pebbles and fossils.
Each individual work is crafted to suit the piece, bringing out the 'face within the stone'.
Inspired by a hypnagogic dream like state of seeing repetitive multiple faces - the carved stones bring a magical feel to their environments and wherever they are situated.
